The march started at College Green outside the city's Council House from 11am. People from various public organisations gathered there, such as the PCS, GP's and members of staff from the NHS, teachers and members of the NHS, members of Unison and other Socialist groups took part.
At 11.30am, the march got underway. Walking slowly from College Green, passing the Hippodrome Theatre, and winding it's way towards Baldwin Street. Then the march turned left and headed towards Broadmead.
In Broadmead the march/protesters stopped for 5 minutes outside Primark to demonstrate against the working conditions of its workers in India, who were killed recently when there warehouse collapsed.
The march continued it's journey around Broadmead, passing Cabots Circus which was very busy with Saturday shoppers. Shoppers who stopped and gasped at what was going on in front of them, most people cheered and supported the protesters on the streets.
Once through Cabot Circus and Broadmead, the march turned right and headed towards Castle Park.
It's now 12:35pm, and most of the protesters on the march have ended up beside the bandstand in Castle Park, where a PA is set up.
At 12:40pm speakers deliver a rally to the gathering crowd of protesters from the march. Speakers from Unison, the NHS, the NUT and others. The crowd cheered throughout the
And hour later, the rally is over and the protesters leave Castle Park peacefully.
During the street march and the rally, it was very peaceful. There wasn't many Police Officers who overlooked what was going on, I counted about 10 officers or so, which is very small for a march/rally of this size.
